COMMITMENT TO GREEN

What is Sustainability?

Sustainability is development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.  Sustainable growth not only pertains to our environment, but also to the success and growth of business models.  The goals of sustainability can be categorized into three main factors, known as “The Three P's”, or “the triple bottom line”.  The triple bottom line is a business strategy geared toward the success and sustainable growth of a given company, which includes a combination of the following factors: People, Planet, and Profit.

How the M Group can help

No matter what the scale of your next project, we can assist you through the range of benefits, from achieving energy incentives, to LEED certification, or even just making a difference.  Consider M Group professionals a resource for answering your questions about planning or implementing your sustainable design goals.  All projects are approached with a balance of cost effective solutions and our values of responsible design.

Sustainability doesn't have to cost more

Due to increased demand for sustainable building materials, pricing is now cost-competitive with other conventional products.

GREEN PRINCIPLES

The M Group aims to provide its clients with architectural solutions that cut costs, increase energy and resource efficiency, and improve long-term environmental integrity.  Regardless of whether on not we are trying to achieve LEED accreditation for a project, the M Group designs with an awareness and use of green building principles because we believe it is an essential part of quality design. The firm follows sustainable office standards in their daily habits by recycling, reducing waste, saving energy, and reducing transportation needs.

Maintaining an up to date materials and resources library with the latest green products and technologies, allows M Group designers to choose from a palette of green products, considered for all projects.

Within the design process, integration between the multiple parties is important to achieving a sustainable product.  Building close relationships with clients and contractors early on in the design phase allows decisions to be made early, reducing costs and allowing better control over the end result.

When designing a space, the following design considerations are made to provide the maximum environmental, social, and economic benefits to the building stakeholders:

  •  Indoor Environmental Quality
  •  Materials and Resources (local wherever possible)
  •  Energy and Water Efficiency
  •  Reduction of Waste
  •  Innovation in Design
